The story of our Journal, 14 years and going really strong
The North and West London Journal of Primary Care (TNWLJP) is the official General Practice and Primary Care Journal for the Community Development and Medical Missions Group, London, United Kingdom for the various projects in North and West London, UK Region. It is a peer-reviewed Medical Journal with distribution in more than 260 countries and territories. The Journal seeks to be the leading journal in the field of Primary Care, General Practice and Community Medicine, including education for all health care professionals. It aims to publish material of the highest quality reflecting leading edge research and contemporary perspectives.
The TNWLJP aims to publish rigorous, accessible and entertaining material that will help healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, therapists, and medical students in their daily practice, lifelong learning and career development. In addition, it seeks to be at the forefront of the international debate on health. To achieve these aims we publish original scientific studies, review and educational articles, and papers commenting on the clinical, scientific, social, political, and economic factors affecting health. We are delighted to receive articles for publication in all of these categories - from doctors, and other healthcare professionals. We can publish only about 32% of more than 900 articles that we receive each year, but we aim to give quick decisions (see Guidelines to contributors).
Currently, the TNWLJP is published twice a year both in print and online versions, and has a circulation of about one million worldwide in about 260 countries and territories, of which 25,000 copies are distributed outside Britain. There is also scope to expand the production and distribution from February 2024. There are also sections to publish student work and issues.
ISSN 2042-5503: (Print Edition)
ISSN 2042-5511: (Online/Open access Edition)
The General Committee and Council of CDMMFG Members have approved for the expansion of both the Online and Print Editions of the Journal in the distribution and scope of coverage. This means that we will be able to open the publications to wider audience and topics.
By June 2024, the TNWLJP will be published twice a year both in print and online versions, and will have a circulation of about 1.5 million worldwide in about 265 countries and territories, of which 27,000 copies are distributed outside of the United Kingdom!
Demand for TNWLJGP has been increasing steadily over the years. Hence, there will be over 670,000 subscribers globally
The General Council and Committee of CDMMG has approved for more employees to be recruited to about 180 staff by August 2024. This will help in the efficient productions of the Journals to meet the demands of subscribers internationally.
